About the Lecturer I
Aarif has been a faculty member at the University of Guyana Berbice Campus (UGBC) since 2018. He holds a bachelor's degree in Statistics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education from the University of Guyana. Aarif earned his master’s degree in actuarial science, with minors in Finance and Statistics, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), where he is currently pursuing a PhD in Statistics. At UNL, he also serves as a graduate teaching assistant. In addition to his academic endeavours, Aarif is actively working toward becoming a credentialed actuary through the Society of Actuaries (SOA). His research interests include machine learning, Bayesian analysis, stochastic processes, experimental design, and crime and transportation statistics
