About the Lecturer II
Mr. Michael Hackett holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Guyana (2002) and MSc in Engineering in the Coastal Environment from the University of Southampton (2008), earned through a Commonwealth Scholarship. Previously taught full-time at the Cyril Potter College of Education (1999–2005). Taught part-time at UG Berbice Campus (2003–2005), and joined UGBC full-time in 2005 as a Physics and Mathematics lecturer. Teaching and research focus on physics, mathematics, and environmental engineering issues related to rainfall, drainage, flooding, riverine and coastal defences, and coastal environment issues. Published research papers in coastal environment engineering and in acoustics.
